National Park Paklenica

National Park Paklenica

Between the coast and the Velebit mountains, Paklenica brings together limestone canyons, forest paths and climbing areas. Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica offer different outings: choose a route for your group rather than assuming every canyon walk is easy.

For a family visit, plan a manageable walk with time to return. Hiking, climbing and a guided visit to Manita peć need different preparation. Check official park information for access, conditions and cave visits before leaving Seline.

Hiking in Paklenica

Choose a route according to fitness, footwear and daylight. A canyon visit and a longer mountain hike are different undertakings; consult the park map and current notices before deciding.

Carry water, sun protection and navigation, check the weather and tell someone your plan. Families can choose a shorter outing without committing to a summit. From Seline, plan the trip around a comfortable return to the apartment.

Climbing in Paklenica

Paklenica has climbing routes of different lengths and difficulty. Match your route to your experience and equipment, and consult current climbing guidance rather than relying on a general travel page.

If you are new to climbing, arrange qualified instruction. Check the park’s climbing rules, weather and access restrictions. Staying in Seline allows rest days by the coast between climbing outings.

Visiting Manita peć

Manita peć is a show cave in National Park Paklenica, visited with a guide. The approach is a walking excursion, so include the climb, the cave visit and the return in your plan.

Wear suitable footwear and take a layer for the cooler cave. Confirm the current guided-visit schedule and tickets with the national park; opening arrangements can change. Keep the rest of the day flexible.

Seline: a base between sea and mountains

Seline is a coastal village below Velebit, suited to days that combine the Adriatic with the Paklenica area. Staying in an apartment gives families and friends room to cook, rest and choose their own pace.

Build your stay around beach time, a park outing and relaxed evenings. It offers a smaller coastal setting than a large city; traffic and beach activity still vary with the season. Apartman Linda is at Put Jabukovca 29.
